Vintage Remington Model 742 Woodmaster ADL Deluxe chambered in .280 remington. This nice old rifle is a 2nd year production manufactured in 1961. These gas operated rifles have always been one of Remingtons most popular offerings and feature a 22" barrel, 4-shot detachable box magazine, and adjustable open sights. The ADL Deluxe version featured fine checkering on the pistol grip and forend, factory sling swivels, and roll-engraved game scenes on the receiver. The .280 Remington chambering is scarce in these models and one box of original Remington Kleanbore 125 gr. Core-Lokt hunting ammunition is included with rifle. The rifle retains approximately 95% of its original bluing with high edge wear and some thinning on the bottom of the receiver where it was carried in the field. The stock and forend are in nice shape with various handling marks typical of a rifle that has been hunted with. The wrist of the butt stock shows a repaired crack. The repair was done professionally, is solid, and is very hard to tell unless you look very closely. The bore is bright with strong rifling. .280 Remington is an excellent big game cartridge and a scarce chambering in this model Remington rifle.
