Gerbruder Merkel of Suhl Heavy Caliber Combination Gun. SN: 1064xx. Cal: 9.3x74 x 12ga/70mm. 65mm/25 3/4" nitro proofed steel barrels w/ full length solid rib. Shotgun choked extra full! Barrels marked " GEBR. MERKEL SUHL - MADE IN GDR". Extractors. Manual flip-up rear sight. Lever release swing mount 30mm scope bases w/ Zeiss Diavari 2.5x10x52 scope w/ post & crosshair reticle. Finely game scene engraved double Kirsten crossbolt boxlock with double set triggers and side-pin cocking indicators. Fine scroll engraving throughout with stag & doe in forest scene on left receiver, four flying ducks in marsh scene on right receiver, and scroll engraved bottom receiver with Suhl trademark. Steel triggerguard. Non-auto tang slide safety. Nicely figured European walnut cheekpiece and capped pistol grip stock and three piece forend. Sling swivels. 14 1/4" LOP over Suhl logoed checkered poly buttplate. Weight: 7lbs10oz w/o scope, 9lbs6oz. w/ scope.
Condition: Gun is in excellent overall original condition. Retian all original blue and oil wood finish. Bores cleaneand bright. Mechanics fine, locks up tight, and on-face Checkering crisp with slight dulling in very small area where right thumb would rest. Optics clear. Swing mounts strong and secure.
