Description:
45-60, serial number 285XX. Mfg 1882. 28" round barrel, rifle buttplate. Low percentage bright blue in shaded areas, mostly plum brown. Light pitting covers large portion of action. Barrel shows smooth, even patina. Magazine tube shows minor denting, does not appear to impede function. Capped with unknown, incorrect cap. Bore shows strong, shootable rifling with moderate pitting. Front sight is a Sheard-type copper bead. Rear sight appears to be later period with back portion broken off, forward portion turned up and u-notch formed. Lever latch missing, dust cover does not slide with operation of lever. Holds at full cock but when trigger is pulled falls to half-notch (broken half-cock notch). Buttstock is plain walnut with age appropriate marring/wear, no apparent cracks or excessive oil soaking. Buttplate stands proud in places, does not appear to have been refinished. Forend has crack full length on bottom and 1 ¼” x 3/8” gauge on left side of forend at receiver, small chip out of forend at receiver. Shows other age appropriate marring/wear and appears to be original. More photos on request. Sold as-is, no returns. Will ship direct. Please add $50.00 for shipping and insurance.
