As a former gunmaker of Serengeti Rifle Company, I built this for myself in 2008. It is truly 1 of 1. It is the only long action Red Mist ever built. I planned on this being the only rifle I'll ever carry so I put more time and effort into this gun than any others I've ever built. Unfortunately it's been fired ten times and sat in the safe for ten years. The rifle features a Serengeti Action which is a refined version of the MRC1999 which is essentially a Winchester Model 70 variant. It is controlled round feed. Has 3 position safety. Trigger is 2.5 pounds. The stock is a 3 piece laminate. Basically we would cut a stock blank into 3 pieces and swap the outers and flip the inner. It mixes up the grain and creates the beauty of a wood stock with the stability of a laminate. The stock is made of AAA English walnut with ebony forend tip and grip cap. It has a pachmyr decelerator recoil pad. Length of pull is 14". The barrel is a 26 1/2" McGowen light target barrel with an 11 degree target crown. The barrel and action are blued with matte finish. The first 3 rounds of this rifle went in to 3/4 inch. It has only been fired 13 times. 3 when it was being tested for accuracy and ten shooting a rock at 600.
