Description:
We are offering for sale an antique Remington Model 1890 6-shot revolver chambered in .44-40 caliber. Just over 2,000 of these guns were produced between 1891-1896. This gun is serial numbered 1624 and was manufactured in 1894. The gun remains in very good condition and appears to have an early refinish.
5 ¾” barrel is very good with the majority of bluing intact; Minor muzzle loss. The bore is good to very good with minimal surface wear, very good rifling. This could be a shooter! There are no visible markings on the barrel. The frame shows attractive case colors; color loss to grip straps. Frame is marked “44 C.F.W” on left side under cylinder. Blued trigger guard is very good with wear. The cylinder remains very good with nice patina, turn line. Cylinder has tight lockup without wiggle. Hammer and trigger function flawlessly. Gun has been fitted with handsome Stag grip plates in very good to excellent condition.
