Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1934, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 3oz, Chokes IC/F, LOP 14", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 5/8"

Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself.  With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use.   From 1930 to 1980, they only made about 2900 twenty-gauge guns in all grades.  Model 21's are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN.  Most every M21 20ga. you find will weigh between 6 ¾ to 7 1/4lbs., have a beavertail forend, single trigger, and feel like a heavy target gun, and they do well in that role.  I purposely search out the rare lightweight guns that feel lively in hand and will not drag you down as you traverse hill and dale all day after upland game with fine dogs and friends.  This pre-war gun, sn8788 made in 1934, is AN INCREDIBLE 6lbs. 3oz., purpose-built upland bird gun with 26” barrels choked for the field at IC/F from the factory and so marked.  CODY FIREARMS MUSEUM DOCUMENTATION ACCOMPANIES THE GUN.  The gun matches the letter with exception of the engraving, which is perfect Winchester #1 engraving.  There is no order sheet available on this gun and that is where the engraving would have been noted.  This gun is likely factory engraved.  Regardless, the simple yet elegant Winchester #1 engraving sets this Model 21 apart from the rest.  I have handled well over 1000 Model 21 guns and have had only a few dozen M21’s in 20ga. that weighed under 6 1/2lbs., and less than 10 that weighed 6 1/4lbs. or under.  For those that seek a true upland gun and have always eliminated the M21 from your list because of the cumbersome weight and target style configuration, here before you is a classic single selective trigger, splinter forend, lightweight M21 in perfect condition.  I can easily say that you will never have the opportunity again to own a 6lb. 3oz. 20ga. gun with ejectors, they are that rare.  The gun has been beautifully restored by the famed GRIFFIN & HOWE and has not been fired or carried since completion.  The barrels tight on hinge and breech face like a new gun, bores and screws are perfect, strong well-timed ejectors, crisp and proper functioning sst, no cracks or repairs, perfect checkering and awesome stock dimensions ending in the factory buttplate.  This fine Winchester Model 21 will make a fine upland and vintage sporting clays for decades to come.  Priced to sell as a rare and desirable M21 twenty-gauge ULTRALIGHT.  Thanks for looking!
