Description:
Here is a petite wand of a SxS shotgun, a sweet little Merkel 280EL. This gun is equipped with a single trigger, 28" fixed choke IC-M barrels, straight stock and splinter forend. There are exactly two marks in the stock that I can see, one is a small pin-prick near the butt on the cheek-hand side of the gun, and then on the same side between the butt and where the checkering begins is a 3/4" long finger-nail line, but it is extremely shallow and very hard to notice unless you hold it up to the light. There is also a pin-prick sized mark on the barrels just in front of the forend where the bluing is missing. I'm being very picky since outside of 2 rounds of skeet this gun has not been used at all. It is extremely tight still and waiting to be used much more extensively. This gun was made in Feb. 2005 per the serial number. It has standard Merkel stock dimensions of 14-1/4" LOP and drops of 1-1/2 at comb and 2-1/4 at heel. There appears to be zero cast so this gun can accomodate either right or left-handed shooters. The included Americase is in great shape with only a few scratches along the edges. These guns sell for over $8,000 new today so I consider this a bargain at $3,500.
