Description:
Colt 1911 US Army pistol 45 acp. This was shipped November 1918 in a large shipment per Edward Meadows in most likely a pistol from the two day shipment totaling 21,500 to Bush Terminal Brooklyn NY on 11-5-18 and 11-19-18. The condtion that this 1911 is in, I am sure it did not see service since the war ended 11-5-18. Colt did not want to get saddled with this many pistol so it makes sense they wanted these out of the factory and into government hands. With thousands of guns now at Bush Terminal they some were mostly taken by workers as a very nice souvenir.
The serial number is 481272. It has a PH barrel and a H by the firing pin hole and an eagle head 4 inspector mark. The U S property is on the left side of the frame. The slide stop and the safety have very fine checkering as indicated in Clawsons book.
Lay a way until January 2, 2019. This pistol has the Colt black finish. I has the wrong mag.Call with any questions. Personal checks and bank checks accepted.
