ETHAN ALLEN .22 Rimfire VEST POCKET Pistol
Civil War Era Deringer Pocket Pistol
Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock .22 Single Shot Pistol, made circa 1860 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Under 1,000 of these pistols are thought to have been produced. This was designed to be a very simple and tiny conceal and carry, self-defense pistol in the turbulent 19th Century. It features a swivel barrel with an automatic ejector.
The left side of the barrel is marked “E. ALLEN & CO WORCESTER, MASS/ALLENS PAT. MCH 7, 1865”.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a light gray patina. The markings are legible. The walnut grips are in good condition. The bore is clear. The action on this pistol is strong.
