BROWN MANUFACTURING CO. BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE W/BAYONET CIRCA EARLY 1870’S. .58 rim fire caliber single shot with 34” barrel. Conversion of the Enfield percussion Civil War era muzzle loader to cartridge. Very few made. Contract of 2000 but very few produced. Seldom seen. All original in very good condition. Maker address and patent date (1871) on bolt. Metal with smooth even grey patina. Stock very good with wood repair at wrist. Rear sling swivel missing. Working order and good bore. Original bayonet in nice condition. One of the first American bolt action military rifles and quite scarce.
