ORNATE SWISS PERCUSSION HEAVY BARREL SCHUTZEN RIFLE BY CASIMIR WEBER DATED 1853. 48” o/a with 30” octagon .45 cal. rifled barrel with false muzzle. Weighs 17 lbs. Barrel inlaid in silver “CASIMIR WEBER A BURIDJ 1853”. Globe front and original fully adjustable Shutzen tang sight with the original adjustment key. Double set triggers. Fine scroll engraved breech, lock and steel mounts. Floral carved walnut Schutzen style stock with oval patch box and steel butt plate also ornately engraved. Forend with “DOGS HEAD” carved cap with mother of pearl eyes. Lock and triggers in working order and excellent bore. Well known Zurich maker of the mid 1800’s.
