Description:
Parker VHE 28 gauge SxS shotgun. Built in September 1911 it was shipped to Chicago, IL. Originally fitted with a pistol grip stock and a 13” LOP this wonderful 28 gauge was professionally restored by Del Grego. At the time of restoration it was restocked with a beautifully grained American Walnut straight grip stock; 14 ¼” LOP over a Parker butt plate 1 ½” DAC & 2 ¼” DAH with neutral cast. The stock is checkered in the correct pattern matching the splinter forearm and there is a silver engraving shield fitted into the bottom edge of the stock. The 26” barrels have mirror bores with chokes of .005” (IC) and .015” (IM), which were opened from the original M/F. The factory letter, which comes with this gun, indicates a weight of 5 lbs. 9 oz. to 6 lbs.; it weighs 6 lbs. 3 oz., the extra weight from the longer, highly figured buttstock. As mentioned this VHE was completely restored by DelGrego some time ago and the finishes remain as restored except for a little blue wear/fading on the back of the trigger guard. The gun is built on a “O” frame which gives it a nice balance between the hands. Gorgeous little 28 gauge and a great bird gun.
