Description:
In 1867, the Spencer factory produced 12,000 of these carbines for private domestic or foreign military sales. It has the normal Spencer marking on the top of the receiver bridge. Serial number is just over 100k. Good looking rifle with quite a bit of finish remaining on the receiver and bbl. Light freking throughout all metal. Gun is equipped with a saddle ring which is present. The bore has nice rifling with pitting and roughness. May clean up. Good solid stock on this gun with some interesting markings on the bottom of the stock in back of the lower tang. Don't know what they are. Forearm is quite dinged up with a chunk of wood missing by the screw and a sliver off of the forearm on the right hand side. Forearm has shrunk a little bit and bbl band is slightly loose but held in place by the keeper. Orig sights. Action works good. Mag tube present.
