Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. The Model 835 is Mossberg’s most powerful pump-action available on the shotgun market. Chambering the 12-gauge 3.5” shell, the 835 can be used for a variety of purposes including hunting and sports shooting. In hunting, the 835 can be used for turkey, deer, waterfowl (with a plug reducing the mag capacity), and bird (non-waterfowl – no plug required) among others. The version depicted above is the Ulti-Mag Turkey. This version comes equipped with a special choke designed for turkey hunting. It is essentially and extra-full choke. Turkey hunting requires shots to ranges anywhere between 20 and 35 yards. However, farther shots may be required, hence the turkey choke. However, like any modern shotgun, the choke is removable and with another choke size, the 835 can be used to hunt other forms of game. The barrel is ported to reduce recoil. Since the 835 is a pump shotgun, it can function well with 2 ¾ inch, 3-inch, and 3.5-inch shells (many 3.5” chambered semi-auto shotguns will not cycle well with shells shorter than the 3.5”). This increases the 835’s versatility to include situations where the heavy-recoiling 3.5-inch shell is not necessary for the intended use. For example, 2 ¾ and 3” shells will work just fine for many uses. The 3-inch and 3.5-inch shells will be useful for waterfowl (do not use the turkey choke for this). The Ulti-Mag Turkey is equipped with a green fiber-optic front and rear sights for easy sight acquisition in low-light conditions, i.e. when hiding in the bushes. The shotgun show above is used, though there are few signs to give this away. These are all finish-related as can be seen in the pictures. The bore is in excellent condition and the shotgun makes good use of Mossberg’s camo finish. This and a camouflaged hunting outfit are often necessary for turkey hunting, as blending in with your surroundings can mean the difference between a successful hunt and going home empty handed.
