HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON .45-70 CALIBER MODEL 1871 “BUFFALO CLASSIC” TOP BREAK SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. These fine and accurate rifles are no longer made. This one features a 32” round barrel topped with a globe front sight that will take inserts and a Williams adjustable peep sight. It has a case colored receiver and smooth steel butt plate also case colored. The nicely grained walnut stock and forend are nicely checkered. Bore is perfect and the action is tight. This one shows a little hunting use and has some light handling marks on the forend and butt stock. There is some light chipping of the wood around the top of the butt plate where it looks like it may have been hit on the top edge of the steel plate. A little careful application of wood fill would probably make it disappear- minor either way. Lots of accurate and inexpensive big .45-70 shooting left in this one!
