Here we present a Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle in .25-20 WCF, made in 1911 in New Haven, Connecticut. Another fantastic design from the mind of John Moses Browning, the 1892 was made to replace the venerable and iconic 1873 and featured its pistol caliber chamberings. The result was a trim and light rifle that was an immediate hit and stayed in production for almost 50 years.
This Model 1892 features a 24-inch round barrel chambered for .25-20 WCF, a great old round for pests and varmints. The top of the barrel reads “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A”. The breech end of the barrel is marked “25-20 WCF”. The receiver tang is marked “MODEL 1892 -WINCHESTER- PAT. OCT.14.1884”.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in great shape. The bore is in good shape, clean with good rifling. The action on this rifle is excellent. Here is a great old Winchester Rifle that would make a great shooter!
