This is a highly sought after and extremely rare box for a Transition .44 Target, aka Model of 1926, from the mid 1940's. The gold boxes are much more common, while the earlier maroon examples are almost nonexistent, with production of Transition Targets estimated at less than 25. The box is in excellent original condition with some writing on the end label the only detractor.
