Description:
Henry Leman percussion Indian trade gun. Lock marked H E Leman 1843. Barrel marked HEL, H E Leman, Lancaster with what looks like 2 old Birmingham proof marks plus two 6 point astroids. First 6 1/2 inches of barrel is 6 sided then round to the muzzle. Barrel is 36 inches long and about .685 OD and .575 ID. The metal is smooth. The stock has a splinter out of the forend and is in very good shape overall with no cracks or splits. The gun is allinal with a large trigger guard, brass serpent side plate, brass buttplate, brass thimbles and a tiny brass front bead sight. Trigger guard appears to have about 2 inches broken off the rear but screw is in place.   Overall lenght is 51 inches and it weighs a little less than 4 1/2 lbs. A round mark in stock maybe a cartouche. Great attic find here in Illinois. Call if you have questions. Shipping is $30.00.
