Description:

Colt Government Model .45 ACP Engraved by Alvin White. Outstanding Colt Series 70 Government model engraved by Alvin White for well-known gun author and historian R.L. Wilson. The gun has profuse scroll engraving throughout with most of the flats covered in inlaid gold scrolls. There are 3 deep relief gold inlays on the gun, one on the right side of the slide of an airplane, and two on the top of the slide: one is of a rampant Colt and the other of an eagle in flight. The grips have gold ovals inlaid on each side, with one of them engraved with “RLW” for R.L. Wilson. The frame is signed “A.A. White-Eng.” under the grip. A wonderful example of the top notch work by one of the 20th century’s most famous and prolific engravers.
