Description:
Up for sale is a pre-WWII German Luger pistol. This is a 1939 dated gun with S/42 on the Toggle for Mauser production. All numbers match on the pistol with the exception of the magazine which is correct for the pistol but numbered to a later letter block. The S/42 mark on the toggle was only used for the first few months of 1939 as Mauser transitioned to the new “42” mark making it a bit less common than your typical Luger pistol. Overall pistol is in excellent condition with normal wear on the high points but would grade very high. Bore is excellent. Grips are not numbered however their fit to the gun is perfect, Mauser was very inconsistent about numbering grips and it is more common to find grips unmarked than marked. All small parts are numbered correctly and it displays the high quality finish used by german makers pre-war, just a really nice example, would make an excellent addition to your WWII collection
