Description:
This is a Winchester Model 69 made in 1936 that is scarce because it has a Winchester Factory Mounted Scope, a Lyman 422 Expert 4 Power crosshair model that came out the same year in 1936. It featured Bausch and Lomb lenses! We know Winchester mounted the scope because the Winchester Barrel PW proof mark is Offset to the Right! Just like the later Winchester factory scoped guns which had offset proofs as well. The rifle may have been a special order from the factory or it may have just been sent in to have the then New Lyman 422 Expert scope mounted. Impossible to know now. But the offset proof mark shows that Winchester did the work. The Rifle is in very nice and original condition. Mirror bore and action is smooth and tight. The scope has nice optics, clear and the crosshair is crisp with one speck of dust on the crosshair. The mount is solid on the gun, I had to have my gunsmith replace the mount screws because the slots were twisted. The front sight hood is not original but is looks great. Sling swivels are added. The original 96B rear peep was removed for clearance and filler block added. The Lyman scope sight is very nicely bore sighted dead center to the bore as is. It is also adjustable for windage and elevation by micrometer screws on the mount. The wood is original finish and is solid, no cracks. The blue on the rifle is original but thinning. No rust. The magazine is a modern replacement. This is a very nice rifle and a scarce if not rare example of the days when Winchester would do most anything a customer wanted! A must have example for the Winchester collector of early Boy's rifles and early scoped rifles. Great squirrel gun as well!  I am a FFL Dealer it Ct. Shipping is $35 to your Gun Dealer.
