Here we present an antique G.P. Foster Box Lock Percussion Shotgun, made circa 1855 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Shotguns like this were quintessential pieces for homes in rural areas or on the trail West. Used for sport, provision and protection, shotguns then, like now, proved themselves invaluable.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The stock is in good shape. The bore is smooth, dark and dusty. The action on this shotgun is strong.
