Sharps 1859 Berdan Sharpshooters. Very rare gun! This is a Sharps Berdan musket. The most distinguished feature on these guns is the double set triggers. This gun falls in the serial range and has the correct inspectors marks. Overall condition is very good. It’s a nice sharp gun with clear markings, but no real finish to speak of. The 2nd Regiment of Sharpshooter was led by Hiram Berdan. This unit was in virtually every major battle of the Civil War up until 1864. This unit also had a high mortality rate. Rare gun!
