Manufactured from 1975 to 1982, the Browning Challenger II quickly earned a reputation for being reliable, accurate, and fun. The Browning Challenger II features a 6.75" inch barrel on a steel frame with Browning's special plastic-impregnated hardwood grips. With a total weight of 38 ounces, the Challenger II was light enough to comfortably carry on hikes but just heavy enough to hold steady on target. This example is in excellent all-original condition and comes complete with the owner's manual and the original box the pistol was shipped in. This pistol has obviously lived a very easy life and has probably been fired a handful of times at most. The factory blue finish rates a solid 98%, and only under very close inspection can one find a few tiny marks on the barrel to warrant any deductions. The bore is minty and bright with sharp rifling, there is no pitting, erosion, dents, bulges, or imperfections visible. The factory gold finish on the trigger is pristine, it shows no signs of use. The original factory plastic-impregnated hardwood grips are in excellent condition. They are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs; and only show some tiny handling marks if you look very closely. The original factory magazine is like the pistol itself, in excellent condition. The slide on this Challenger II works smoothly and goes into battery perfectly. All of the controls work 100% like the day it left the factory and the pistol functions flawlessly. If you have been looking for a cool little .22 auto pistol to add to your collection this Browning Challenger II would be an excellent choice. It is certainly collector-grade condition, and we seldom see these pistols with their original box and owner's manual. It would be nearly impossible to upgrade from this example.
