Description:
Known as the "rifleman's rifle," the model 70 has been popular throughout history with hunters, and has also seen use from law enforcement and military snipers. Shooting Times magazine awarded the Winchester 70 the title "Gun of the Century" in 1999. This model 70 is chambered in 7mm STW, or "Shooting TImes Westerner," a caliber made popular by Layne Simpson, a contributor to this magazine. This model 70 features a checkered wood stock and 26 inch barrel. The stock has one mark in the rear, but overall is in excellent condition. Some oxidation can be seen on the barrel tip and floorplate, but the rifling is strong, ready for any hunt or range day. Included in this package is a set of one inch rings. A great all-around rifle, and a great addition to any collection.
