This Winchester was produced in 1938. The Shotgun's serial number is 31652. It has a 28 inch solid rib full choked barrel. This original special order shotgun has the quality wood that you would see on the latter "Trap" grade models. In 1938 there was no listing for a "Trap" grade at that time. However, special order wood that would be latter known as the "Trap wood was available. This shotgun is one of the special order guns with this quality wood. The original Winchester stock and forend have stunning wood! The checkering is really fine with the diamonds highlighted on the slide handle and pistol grip. This shotgun was restored by Wright's of Illinois. The shotgun now, is in new condition. The bluing would rate a 99% and better overall condition. The wood is outstanding with no scratches, dents or any issues at all. The bore is minty and bright. This is a outstanding example of a early high grade Model 42 that was available to the public at that time. Searc for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
