Description:
Model 1816 musket converted in 1858 by Remington useing the Maynard primer system. About 20,000 muskets were converted from 1856-1858 and are not seen near as often as the simple French and Belgian percussion ignition. This gun is in very good Cond. with smooth clean barrel with pitting in the breech area. Lock plate marlings are sharp, Remingtons Ilion N.Y. 1858. Stock is very good with two cartouches visible on left flat. Bore is good with faint rifling and original ramrod. All componants work perfectly.
