Quality Hardware produced the 6th fewest carbines so they are more scarce, but not rare. The components of this carbine are not all Quality Hardware manufactured, but after the WWII not many carbines were. All parts are stamped with their USGI manufacturer with the exception of the butt plate, gas piston, magazine catch, recoil plate, sear, and stock. The unmarked parts could well be USGI but just not marked. Also, some parts stampings were missed during the frantic production of these rifles. The barrel has the P armorers stamp and faint flaming bomb on the gas port and armorer stamping on the underside. The metal is in good condition with no dents, dings, pitting or rust. The stock is an aftermarket replacement in excellent condition and fits like the originals do. Hand guard is original stamped MU. This is a very reliable rifle that you can shoot all day long, and it will still be attractive for those who appreciate the history of the M1 Carbine.
