Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: The Colt Model 1877 Thunderer (& Lightning) was made from 1877 to 1909 with over 166,000 manufactured. The 6-shot double action revolvers were fitted with either a 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, 5 or 6 inch barrels without ejector and 4 1/2, 5, 6, 7, 7 1/2 inch barrels with ejectors, blue/color case-hardened or nickel finished, etched or roll stamped caliber markings on the barrel, one or two-piece grips, and chambered in .41 Colt. This 1885 vintage (serial number 53744) gun is as described and is fitted with a 3 1/2 inch barrel without ejector rod, is blue/color case-hardened finished, has the etched panel caliber marking on the left side of the barrel, and two piece checkered hard rubber grips. Revolver is in fine original condition, retaining 50% of its original blue finish, with most loss due to flaking, and a couple of areas of spotting. The frame retains 85% of its original color case-hardened finish, with most loss on the loading gate. The screw heads still retain most all of their original fire blue finish. The checkered hard rubber grips fit perfectly, are in excellent condition, with minimal handling marks. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, but there are some areas of spotting. The action is tight and functions perfectly. Gun is all numbers matching: Frame to trigger guard, back-strap, and cylinder. The gun comes with a Colt Factory letter which states gun was shipped July 3, 1885 to N. Curry & Brothers located in San Francisco, California. Nice antique Colt Thunderer.
