Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle with factory 24 inch Octagon Barrel .38-40wcf. The serial number of this example is 19706 placing date of manufacture in 1892, a first year production rifle. Overall condition is very good to fine with 75-80% of the original factory finish toning to a very nice blue plum /patina. The bore on this rifle is very good plus with strong rifling from breech to muzzle. The bore is shiny with scattered mild spots of pitting or possibly leading. The bore will rate an 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The wood is extra fancy walnut common with the early 92's and 94's. Wood to metal fit is perfect, handling and storage marks will be found.
