*** REDUCED *** A handsome Boss 16 bore in oak & leather case with maker’s label and full accessories in excellent condition. Perfectly balanced, a joy to shoot, and rare! This Boss, number 6531, was made circa 1920 and has the latest version of the Boss Patent Single Trigger – Patent No.11278 inscribed on the trigger plate. It has lots of original case coloring and just flows to the target. *** The 27” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” cartridges and have selective ejectors. They are topped by a raised solid concave game style rib. The rib is inscribed “Boss & Co., 13 Dover Street, Piccadilly, London W” and the barrels were recently professionally re-blacked. The left barrel is bored 0.662 with a constriction of 0.012 for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.023. The right barrel is bored 0.666 and has a constriction of 0.001 for Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.024. *** The splinter forearm and replacement buttstock are crafted from highly figured walnut. Checkering is crisp and the finish has a nice warm soft glow. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4” from a single trigger over a 3/4” red Silvers butt pad by 1-9/16” by 2-5/16”. It has the feel of a longer stock because of the position of the single trigger. Cast off for the right hand shot. *** The oak & leather case, a perfect complement for this fine shotgun, is outfitted with a complete set of accessories including snap caps, a Boss oil bottle, two-piece cleaning rod, cleaning attachments, and a chamber brush. The case is in great shape and has a Cunard Line First Class sticker on the top of the lid. Wonder where the owner took this Boss? The case has an original maker’s label and a label explaining the operation of the Boss Patent single trigger. *** Perfect for game, clays or carrying afield. Only 129 16 bores have ever been made by Boss and they are more rare than 20 bores! Boss 16 bores in this condition do not come around very often so you may want to act before it gets away. *** Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws.
