Description:
DeLuxe model Luciano Rota, Brescia made Italian .410 double shotgun with an English straight stock in excellent grained walnut and a splinter foreend with a convenient Anson style push button release. Single gold trigger; side plate box lock action I believe (not taking off the plate to find out, however) as there is only one screw on the left plate; 3 inch chambers (marked Cam 76), 26 3/8 inch barrels; original and perfect butt plate; LOP 14”.
Reported as designed by Emilio Rizzini, made by Luciano Rota (RL mark on water table and barrels) in Noboli, Brescia,and has many of the characteristics of a Rizzini Lusso, including a beautifully perforated top lever and characteristic floral (impressed most likely) engraving on the action. Italian proof marks, faint on the water table but definitely Brescia proof house as they’re clear on the barrels
Used only once and has no handling marks; no scratches or dents. One spot of storage wear on the trigger guard (see the photos). Choked M/F (one star and three stars) in this deluxe model imported by Tristar but clearly marked “Made in Italy”. Firing pin area and water table shows the lack of use as it is unmarked.
Included is an appropriately sized brown saddle leather case with a blank brass initial escutcheon, and good detailing. The leather is in excellent plus condition and the strap and hinge leather are perfect with heavy brass hardware. The case opens from both ends--not sure why-- and is lined with nice green felt in excellent condition.
