Description:
This is a 1990's vintage Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter Stainless with a factory Mossy Oak Treestand camo stock in brand-new, unfired, mint condition complete with the original box, paperwork, and hang tags. This rifle was bought new by the original owner and put up in storage until now. This Model 70 Classic Sporter Stainless features all-weather and low maintenance stainless steel construction with a 26" inch barrel chambered in the potent and accurate .300 Winchester Magnum cartridge. This Model 70 Classic features the controlled-round feed design of the pre-1964 rifles with a full length Mauser-style extractor. This particular rifle is one of the limited production guns with a factory Mossy Oak brand "Treestand" camo stock instead of the standard black composite stock found on most of the production run of this model. Winchester offered the Model 70 Classic Stainless from 1993 to 2005, when it was discontinued. As mentioned before this rifle is in pristine like-new condition. There are no visible flaws or signs of wear on the stainless finish. The bore is bright and clean with sharp rifling, and has never been fired since leaving the factory. The synthetic stock is also in excellent like-new condition and shows no wear or handling marks. The Mossy Oak Treestand camo finish is in perfect condition. The stock comes with factory installed stainless sling swivel studs and a factory installed Winchester-branded recoil pad that makes the length of pull 13.5" inches to the end of the pad. Everything on this rifle works 100% like the day it left the factory. The action is smooth and precise and goes into battery perfectly, and the trigger is excellent, breaking cleanly without any grittiness or slop. This rifle comes with the original box complete with an intact factory end-label that is serial numbered to the rifle, and all of the paperwork and hangtags it shipped from the factory with. If you have been looking for a pristine low production Winchester to add to your collection as an investment this rifle would be impossible to upgrade from. Given this model's reputation for being extremely accurate and well-made it would also make a great rifle to take afield, and the .300 Win. Mag. chambering makes this rifle capable of taking any game in North America, even at extreme ranges.
