Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: 1860 CIVIL WAR Antique Colt DRAGOON .44 Revolver Cased with Accoutrements Here we present an antique Colt Dragoon Revolver, Third Model, manufactured in 1860 in Hartford, Connecticut. Only 10,500 of this variant were produced, with only an estimated 1,500 of that number made for use with a shoulder stock. The Third Model was first offered in 1851 and continued production through 1861, for a total of 10,500. Colt’s Dragoons experienced some of the harshest conditions the mid-19th century had to offer, and it is amazing that any survived, in any condition. This pistol was designed for use by horse-mounted rifleman, and it is so much pistol that you will want a horse to carry it for you. This pistol weighs in at over 4 pounds. This one would have seen use during the American Civil War and was made just prior. This Dragoon comes in a nicely built custom fitted case with burgundy lining. The case also houses a very nice Colt’s Patent Dragoon sized powder flask. The flask reads “COLT’S PATENT” at the bottom with crossed Colt Paterson revolving rifles and pistols just above the banner. There are also cannon and mortar and flags in the background. .44 caliber projectiles, an Eley of London cap tin, nipple wrench, and bullet mold are also included. The overall condition is good. This revolver obviously saw hard use as many did. The markings on the barrel and frame are faint. The serial numbers match on all parts with visible numbers. The walnut grips are in great shape. The bore is dark with strong rifling. The action is strong. This is a great opportunity to add one of Samuel Colt’s most recognized inventions to your collection, a Civil War Colt Dragoon! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/2 inches. Caliber: .44 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe.
