This is a rare item. Springfield M1 Garand Rifle Type II National Match 7.62X51 (.308). The serial number of this example is 20794XX. Prior to the Vietnam War the United States Navy re chambered their Remaining M1 Garands from .30-06 to 7.62 NATO. The Garands remained in service on board ships through most of the war. Very few of the Match rifles were re chambered, this one was. All correct with Match Sights, Op/Rod and Barrel. The Trigger Group and Stock (glass Bedded)all numbered to the rifle.
