Description: This is a Colt 1862 Pocket Navy, originally caliber 36 percussion/black powder, factory converted to 38 Rimfire. The grip, trigger guard and frame have matching serial #6368. Barrel is a factory mis-match error, serial number 6268, exactly 100 #s off and fits perfectly to frame. Correctly un-numbered wedge. Loading gate has assembly # 426. This is a Type 2 conversion - 4.5" round barrel with Richards Mason patent ejector rod and correct barrel address. Frame is a Type B with correct hammer and loading gate with external gate spring. Frame and hammer exhibit 30% original case colors. Rest of frame, cylinder and barrel have basically no finish remaining. Cylinder scene is just about worn off, can only make out the wheels of the stagecoach. Grip strap and trigger guard are a nice mustard color, the brass never having been cleaned. Wood grips are sound, no splits or cracks, plenty of original finish, just slight wear loss at toe and typical ding marks from age/use. Action is tight, locks up nicely and indexes perfectly. Bore is very good, bright with sharp rifling and only minor scattered fouling. Ejector rod functions properly with no hang-up. Wedge screw is a replacement. Overall a nice used but not abused example of a Colt Factory Richards Mason Pocket Conversion. Antique so no FFL required and can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it. Must provide copy of valid driver's license for proof of age. No international sales. Ships by USPS Priority Mail with tracking & insurance for $25. Payment by bank check or money order only. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Thanks for looking and please see my other listings.
