Description:
This is a "Rare" Marston Breech Loading Single shot percussion Pistol. It is loaded by lowering the lever and inserting a "unique" Marston patent leather base, paperboard bodied cartridge. .36 caliber. 6" Part octagon/part round barrel. Bore is very good with light pitting. Mechanically fine. Dovetailed Small blade front and notch rear sight ,along with a rear frame mounted "peep" sight. Barrel is marked "W.W. MARSTON/NEW-YORK/PATENTED 1850". Serial Number is #535, and is marked on the bottom of the barrel flat and bottom of frame, at the breech. Has Engraved Floral Designs on the frame. Overall smooth grey patina finish showing some minor pitting. Grips are good ,showing light handling marks, with a couple of minor chips missing near the bottoms. Rare Pistol, with only approx. 1000 manufactured in the early to mid-1850's. Buyer Pays $25.00 shipping to the lower 48 states. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check.
