Description:
Overall condition of this vintage deluxe Remington 760 is excellent with very little use or evidence of having been carried or used. The factory stock was professionally modified for what was most likely a tall man with a long neck to have a raised comb; this may be removed and restored to original dimensions by someone with a little abilty. The job required to raise the comb is valued at $ 200.00 according to local stock maker. The period correct Weaver Marksman should have a higher set of rings to work well with the raised comb perhaps requiring a Leupold or Redfield Type base with at least medium height rings. Comb could be glued back in place or stock could be replaced with an original of the same type; these are often found on ebay and other places. The clip has some crud on it but these are also easily replaced or extra's may be found from many sources.
It is known that approx 90% of all 760 Pumps were chambered in 30 06 and are hard to find in this desirable 308 chambering; dont miss this one.
There is hardly a mark on this rifle and even the dual slide bar retains almost full blue.
Sights removed and holes filled; it is unclear how they were filled so it should be assumed that sights may not easily be replaced.
