Description:
Serial #390, .41 RF, 34" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a Francotte-made, Infanteriegewehr that has 70-75% of the original blue on the barrel with streaks of gray visible under a coating of dried protective grease, or varnish. The grease continues on the breech and “Francotte" marked lock, which have a bright gray patina where the varnish has thinned or worn off entirely. The barrel bands have a very nice reblued finish. The heavy, matching numbered stock has numerous small handling marks and small surface blemishes in the wood, but some nice figure is visible within the grain nonetheless, and is marked with a large “K+T" military marking on the left side of the butt. The rifle is equipped with the original ramrod, and is in excellent shape mechanically, with a tight, positive action. These are fairly scarce rifles in the US, but this example rates fine condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Swiss, or European military arms. Antique
