RARE! Winchester Model 40, Semi-Automatic 12 GA. 30" Barrel, Full Choke, 2-3/4" Chamber, Walnut Stock, Recoil Pad. 75% Condition. S/N 4393.
This is a very interesting piece of Winchester history. Only 12,000, of a planned 40,000, were manufactured between 1940-41, even less are still remaining in circulation. All Winchester Model 40 shotguns were recalled due to a design flaw. Winchester sent anyone who sent in their model 40 a brand new Model 12. This one is in pretty nice shape. This is one of the remaining Winchester 40’s that was not sent back to the factory under recall and is a great rare piece for a Winchester Collection.
