Description:
This is a very nice Colt Frontier Six-Shooter chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. It has the period correct roll stamping, "COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER", on the left side of the barrel. Marked "PAT. SEPT.19,1871/JULY 2,72. JAN. 19. 75." On the left side of frame, and "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top of the barrel. Has all matching serial numbers, serial #172113, on the butt, trigger guard and frame. Has a 5.5" barrel with an excellent bore. Action is strong and has excellent timing and lock up. Finish is smooth patina showing some original bluing and case hardening. Rampant Colt Grips are in excellent condition. Comes with a Colt Factory Letter that dates the Date of Shipment to: Colt Patent Firearms Mfg. Co./ San Francisco, Ca., on February 5, 1898. Making it an ANTIQUE Firearm.
