ORNATE Belgian Antique MEYERS Brevete PEPPERBOX
Small Folding Trigger Pinfire Revolver
Here we present an antique Meyers Brevete Pinfire Pepperbox Revolver, made circa the 1870s in Liege, Belgium. This small revolver was designed to be a concealable self-defense sidearm in late-19th Century Europe. It features a folding trigger and, instead of having a single barrel, the cylinder chambers act as individual barrels. This revolver utilized pinfire cartridges were early metallic cartridges containing an internal primer with a firing pin protruding out the case wall. The flat of the hammer would smash the pin into the primer. This example has elaborate designs etched into the steel and the grips are antique ivory.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a gray patina. The grips are in good shape with a short crack on the right panel. The bores are in good condition. The action is excellent.
