Description:
This Colt 1862 police is from my personal collection. This gun Serial number 17 is an extremely rare variation with only approximately 25 ever being produced. This gun void of the typical "Colts Patent" on the left side frame, only shown on some of the very first ever produced. The serial number is marked on the loading lever, rammer, barrel, backstrap, guard, and frame. The serial numbers are prooper showing the use of the big dye. This was only seen on the first 25 or so guns. The gun shows a soft patina finish. The grips show an old revarnish. the action functions excellent. This is an incredibly rare and eary variation that most collections are void of.
