Description:
This is a very nice Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Varmint rifle in .243 Win. This nice rifle was made in 1959 and looks to have had little if any field use. The metal has very strong original blue with a touch of thinning on the bolt knob. The barrel is a 26 inch medium tapper varmint weight with the original screws still in place and unmolested. The stock is made from very high grade walnut with a sunburst and outstanding feather. The last picture has a small amount of oil applied to show the potential. The sling mounts are correct Winchester mounts. The butt plate is a Herters. You could replace the stock with a correct Winchester stock and make a few dollars or enjoy the rifle as it is.
