Description:
This is an original Colt 1862 Pocket Police made in 1867 per serial # with 4.5" barrel in an original case with Eagle flask, original Colt's Patent bullet mold, and Hicks' tin of percussion caps. Revolver has all matching serial numbers on grips, frame, trigger guard, barrel and wedge. Times perfectly with a strong hammer spring. Original 5 shot fluted cylinder shows typical black powder use in the chambers but no severe pitting. Outside of cylinder shows some original blue in the protected areas of the flutes. Remainder of the metal parts show patina with mild pinprick pitting in spots. Ramrod is still very tight and strong. Grips show some wear and dings but are all there with most of the original finish remaining. Brass parts have never been cleaned and are the typical mustard color. All markings are clear and legible. Backstrap is engraved "Surgeon Edmund G. Waters" and has been there forever as the wear is consistent with the age of the revolver. No way to tell if it was done by the factory as no records exist at Colt for this firearm. Full bio of Dr. Waters is shown in the pics as he was born, raised, schooled and practiced in Baltimore, MD. He was a very prominent figure with many groups until his death. Original case shows some wear to the velvet and repairs to the dividers. No key present. Overall a neat package with some historical significance.
No international sales. USPS Priority Mail shipping with tracking will be $25. Payment by bank check or money order only. Antique so no FFL required but copy of valid driver's license must be included to show proof of age. Can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it.
