Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a very nice all-original West German Weatherby Mark V in 7mm Weatherby Magnum. J.P Sauer, one of Germany's most respected gunmakers, built these rifles for Weatherby from 1959 to 1973. They are considered some of the finest rifles ever to carry the Weatherby name and are sought after by collectors and shooters/hunter alike. They have a reputation for being very accurate and well-made, with excellent fit and finish and fine attention to detail. This particular rifle is serial number P38984 and features a 26" inch barrel with no iron sights and a deluxe Walnut Monte-Carlo style stock with a contrasting forend tip and pistol grip cap. It has factory installed sling swivel studs and a factory installed Weatherby-branded recoil pad. The length of pull is 13.5" inches to the end of the pad. The original high gloss blue factory finish is still beautiful, with only a few small handling marks and spots of finish wear. The worst of these are on the top of the receiver where there were some optics bases mounted at some point and the blue has thinned. Even with these spots on the receiver the finish still rates 96%+. These will not be visible with a scope mounted up on the rifle. The bore in this Mark V is pristine and bright. The rifling still has sharp lands and grooves, and there is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible whatsoever. It is obvious that this rifle has had a very easy life and has not been shot much at all since leaving the factory. The original stock is in excellent condition overall. It is free from any cracks, repairs, or major damage. Under close inspecion there are some minor dings and tiny handling marks in the stock, but nothing that impacts the clean and beautiful overall look of the wood. All of the controls on this rifle work perfectly and the action is smooth and tight when worked by hand. The bolt goes into battery perfectly, and the trigger is exceptionally good, breaking cleanly like glass with a light pull with no grittiness or slop. The 7mm Weatherby Magnum chambering is a stout cartridge. It is a magnum round capable of taking any big game in North America and has the legs to do it at extreme distance as well. If you have been looking for a new but classic big game rifle to add to your collection this Weatherby would be a superb choice. SOLD Manufacturer: Weatherby (Mfg. by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in W.
