Colt Bankers Special in 22 LR. This is a very desireable Bankers in 22lr. It was shipped to a Texas Retailer in 1936 as the Factory letter says. It was shipped in blue. Some where in its life it was nickled . 99% + beautiful nickel with mother of pearl grips fitted very well. Mechanically it is tight and functions like new. great bore and cylinder. Its a fine example of 22 Bankers. All correct and matching.According to a well known author of the snubbys detective specials and Bankers, Colt may have only made 50, 22 bankers in nickel and possibly as few as 15 to 20 of them.So enven though its been re nickeled its a hard one to find .I have seen real ones go for 8 to 10K in the past. . .
