Here we present a Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle in .32 WCF, made in 1910 in New Haven, Connecticut. Another fantastic design from the mind of John Moses Browning, the 1892 was made to replace the venerable and iconic 1873 and featured its pistol caliber chamberings. The result was a trim and light rifle that was an immediate hit and stayed in production for almost 50 years.
This Model 1892 features a 24-inch octagonal barrel chambered for .32 WCF, a good round that was suitable for small game and which made a great companion to a revolver with the same chambering. The top of the barrel reads “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A”. The breech end of the barrel is marked “25-20 WCF”. The receiver tang is marked “MODEL 1892 -WINCHESTER- PAT. OCT.14.1884”.
The overall condition is very good. Traces of the original blue finish remain with the remainder of the metal surfaces having a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock is in good shape. The bore is in great shape, bright with sharp rifling. The action on this rifle is excellent. Here is a great old Winchester Rifle that would make a great shooter!
