Description:
An early "COUNTRY STORE AX DISPLAY STAND". Made by "Briggs Hardware Co. - Patented Mar. 11, 1899 - July, 1907". Only one of these 90 degree, corner display I've ever seen in 45 years of country/general store collecting. Measures 19" at the widest, 13" high and 14" deep. 16 Axes were stood on end with the steel end placed in the slots thus allowing customers to easily remove, examine and replace each ax. Shows much age, but is solid and totally usable, a great display piece for your axe or general store collection. Old blue paint. Would look great in any tool or primitive collection. The 180 degree with axes is not included, just to show full axe collection.
