Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: Antique Tower New Land Pattern Conversion Pistol 19th Century British Pistol Here we present an antique British New Land Pattern Pistol, made in the early 19th Century as a flintlock and subsequently updated to the more reliable percussion firing system. This pistol was the weapon of British cavalrymen, the type that would have been used at the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon. All British mounted soldiers at Waterloo carried pistols, of the New Land Pattern recently standardized in 1796. The lock bears the crown cipher of King George (GR for Georgius Rex) under the hammer. The rear of the lock is marked “TOWER” and there are various British proof and acceptance marks on the lock and left side of the barrel. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a smooth, dark patina. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is dark. The stock has been meticulously repaired after a traumatic event. Ramrod is a replacement.
